As part of the newly formed NTT Ltd., the Global Data Centers division is now the third-largest data center provider in the world; with plans to continue to grow and expand around the globe, with $7 billion committed to building new data centers over the next five years. At the same time, we are now more than just a data center company. We are integrating our colocation data centers with other divisions across NTT, bringing together network services, cloud and cloud comms, security, and, even consulting and integration services. This all adds up to a full stack of technology solutions and end-to-end managed services that all are aligned to help our customers overcome any challenges they are facing.

Combining the resources of 31 companies into one

We combined 31 high-performing, specialized technology companies into one new entity—NTT Ltd. Within NTT Ltd., we then created a new Global Data Centers division, which incorporates e-shelter, Gyron, Netmagic, NTT Indonesia Nexcenter, RagingWire and other data center companies that formerly sat under the NTT Communications brand.

This division operates one of the largest data center platforms globally, with over 160 data centers spanning more than 20 countries and regions. Our clients now have access to a robust digital ecosystem with global reach and local expertise.

Bringing these companies and services together further illustrates how NTT is differentiating itself by offering more choices than ever to clients of all sizes. Through a combination of a global portfolio of data centers and a broad array of services, NTT can help clients reach their business objectives more easily, economically and efficiently.

Coming together from around the world

It’s a significant task to bring together this many companies. Although it will be an ongoing process for some time to come, we are excited to bring the best of the teams, companies and technologies together under one umbrella. It’s exciting to see these topics researched, discussed and decided in order to increase productivity and collaboration across the company.

Personally, I have loved getting to know people from the different affiliate companies around the world, even when it means there will be some late-night calls to include people from India, Japan, England and Germany. I’ve enjoyed meeting talented marketers around the globe, as well as incredible experts in product management and development. I think everyone is excited about running their division—while at the same time being a part of something bigger. We’ve all come together to collaborate and think about how we can work together to offer a unified customer experience across all of NTT Ltd.

Offering a full stack of technology-driven solutions

As a global data center operator, our clients trust our experts to help them with business strategies and digital plans that range from growing their data center footprint to extending their global reach to managing their cloud and connectivity. Our full-stack solution allows us to offer access to multiple cloud providers and a large variety of Internet Exchanges and telecommunication network providers (including our own IPv6 compliant, Tier 1 global IP network). Our customizable space configurations and reliable, carrier-neutral connectivity, including integration with hybrid or multi-cloud, are standard. Clients are supported 24/7/365 by highly-trained, in-house staff experts in operations, facilities management, security, and shipping and receiving.

More broadly, NTT clients will have access to full-stack technology solutions that extend well beyond just the data centers (from cloud services to network infrastructure to hardware and applications) and full-lifecycle services (from consultancy to fit-out services to ongoing management) with end-to-end managed services. We also are working to implement new global consistency across all of our data centers, with consistent SLAs, global MSAs and global design and delivery standards for all future data centers built around the globe. Our goal is to offer clients the best possible data center experience, consistently, anywhere in the world.
