To celebrate its 270th anniversary, Vacheron Constantin presents a horological artwork that transcends mere timekeeping: the Métiers d’Art Tribute to the Quest of Time. Limited to just 20 pieces, this double-sided creation fuses cutting-edge mechanical ingenuity with poetic artistry, offering not just a watch, but a narrative of human curiosity and craftsmanship.
At its heart beats the new manually wound Calibre 3670, a marvel of 512 components and four patent applications. On the dial, a golden human figure extends its arms to mark the hours and minutes across elegant retrograde arcs reminiscent of the 1930 “Bras en l’Air” pocket watch. Unlike its predecessor, however, this figure offers a choice between continuous time display and discreet, on-demand indication—activated with a simple press, like revealing a secret only when desired.
Above, a three-dimensional moon glows with celestial precision while a starry vault recreates the Geneva sky on 17 September 1755, the Maison’s founding day. Flip the watch, and the poetry continues: A sapphire caseback reveals a sky chart tracking the constellations in real time, with accuracy so exact it drifts only one day in 9,130 years. The 43mm white gold case, certified by the Poinçon de Genève, balances technical depth with wearability and pairs haute horlogerie with quiet elegance.
Blending métiers d’art with modern design, this timepiece is less an accessory than an heirloom—a rare companion for those who see time not just as something to measure, but as something to cherish.
