Informal Interactions with Paula Cogan

With a role that devotes significant energy to building the digital backbone of tomorrow, how do you reserve time and space for supporting your own needs and preserving a balance between your professional obligations and personal life?

That’s a great question for someone who recently made the decision to retire and very, very quickly decided to un-retire! While I thrive on learning new things and find this whole industry so exciting, I of course also need some non-work time. I enjoy traveling. I try to swim three or four times a week.

I have the privilege of living a life where I work in a very fast paced environment in central London, but on the weekends, I get to go and live a life of tranquility with my family. I live in the countryside, so I enjoy watching the deer in my garden and the ever-changing landscape in the field behind my house. Some months will have sheep, and very recently, a herd of cattle moved in.

I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I have created a good work-life balance. There’s always more to learn, more to contribute, and I’m excited about continuing to grow the Digital Realty business in EMEA and with my colleagues across the globe.

Enjoying a peaceful walk in tranquility
