Armin Strom introduces the Orbit Purple, a visually arresting evolution of the brand’s pioneering date-on-demand complication. Housed in a black DLC-coated stainless-steel case and paired with a rugged black textile strap, the watch sets a dramatic stage for its midnight-purple fumé dial—a gradient that shifts from vivid violet at the center to near-black at the edges, drawing the eye deep into the mechanics.
At the heart of the Orbit Purple is the world’s first on-demand pointer-date on a bezel, activated only when the wearer chooses. Unlike traditional date displays that operate continuously, the Orbit’s date appears by request, offering both functional control and a new interaction with time. The purple pointer and matching date scale on the ceramic bezel create a seamless aesthetic unity with the dial.
Powered by the Manufacture Calibre ASS20, the watch features an automatic micro-rotor, a column-wheel mechanism for the date, and Armin Strom’s patented equal-force barrel—ensuring consistent energy delivery and a 72-hour power reserve. Fully hand-finished and crafted to haute horlogerie standards, the Orbit Purple is limited to just 20 pieces, emphasizing its exclusivity.
