Breguet Expérimentale 1: The Birth of a New Scientific Chapter

With the Expérimentale 1, Breguet opens the first chapter of a bold new research-driven collection dedicated to forward-looking Haute Horlogerie. More than a watch, it is a horological demonstrator–an expression of two and a half centuries of scientific innovation, now projected into the future.

Housed in a 43.5 mm case crafted from 18-Carat Breguet gold, the Expérimentale 1 is the brand’s first wristwatch–a world premiere–to feature a ten Hz tourbillon with a constant-force magnetic escapement. This high-frequency regulating organ beats at 72,000 vibrations per hour, ensuring exceptional stability, shock resistance, and chronometric precision. Certified under the Breguet Hallmark “Scientific” category, it guarantees accuracy of ±1 second per day.

The regulator-style display draws inspiration from historic marine chronometers, with hours at six o’clock, offset minutes, and seconds on the tourbillon at 12 o’clock, all revealed through a sapphire dial that exposes the entire movement. A patented twin-barrel system delivers a 72-hour power reserve, while a blue rubber strap with tool-free interchangeability underscores its contemporary, performance-driven character.

Uniting magnetism, high frequency, and constant force in a single mechanism, the Expérimentale 1 stands as Breguet’s most radical technical expression to date–an instrument born from science, shaped by history, and engineered for the future.
