Rachel Peterson

Rachel Peterson, Vice President, Data Centers, at Meta, is a visionary leader who brings steadfast focus to the responsible and sustainable growth of the digital infrastructure industry. A longstanding member of iMasons, she played a pivotal role in the development of the association’s sustainability vision, Every Click Improves the Future, and the launch of the iMasons Climate Accord. She is also a contributor to the development of the iMasons Social Accord and a staunch supporter of the iMasons Awards to showcase and amplify the outstanding contributions of leaders in the digital infrastructure industry.

At Meta today, Rachel is responsible for the delivery of reliable, scalable and sustainable infrastructure solutions. She oversees all aspects of the data center lifecycle, from site selection to engineering and design to construction and operations, as well as Meta’s net zero commitments and renewable energy procurement. She previously was the Vice President of Data Center Strategy at Facebook, responsible for the global data center expansion strategy. She also led the development and implementation of Facebook’s net zero carbon emissions goal and 100% renewable energy target. Prior to joining Facebook, Rachel held roles at Google and Cisco Systems, focusing on data center site selection and supply chain operations.

In addition, Rachel is a strong supporter of women in the digital infrastructure industry. She helped create the Women in Infrastructure and IT program at Facebook and serves as a role model as part of the iMWomen Member Resource Group.
