With a world driven by hyper-innovation and demand for an increasingly resilient, connected, equitable, and global Internet, digital infrastructure faces unprecedented opportunities and significant challenges. Beyond the needs of emerging technologies and high-performance computing—as well as the companies and communities that deploy them—our industry must consider many other factors as it navigates these changes and works to empower transformation at both hyperlocal and hyperscale levels. For instance, security, education, health, commerce, and access to resources all play important roles in the evolving digital landscape and global geostrategy.
In this complex, dynamic environment, to thrive means to work together; silos of expertise or segregated sectors of society will crumble under the weight of extensive, excessive change more easily and much faster than a collaborative foundation where we all pitch in. Bringing together our knowledge, ideas, efforts, and resources is more important than ever in addressing challenges and unlocking the immense potential of this groundbreaking era.
Atlantic Convergence offers a gateway and a launchpad to doing just that for the Atlantic corridor. Under the umbrella of this event, Africa, Europe, and the Americas can unite to build a shared and interconnected future that benefits and supports us all. More than just an event, the platform presents a forum for enterprises, institutions, providers, and other stakeholders within the Atlantic digital infrastructure value chain to engage in meaningful discussions and foster collaboration. By bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, Atlantic Convergence empowers participants to explore the emerging ecosystem around the Atlantic Ocean and work together to drive innovation, shape policy, and create sustainable solutions.
In Issues 17 and 18 of InterGlobix Magazine, we presented a two-part series on the inaugural Atlantic Convergence event, which took place in autumn 2024. Now a year later, we’re looking back at the second iteration of this pivotal platform. Taking place October 28–30, 2025, this edition of Atlantic Convergence (AC 2025) featured 55 speakers and over 600 participants. As a proud media partner, InterGlobix Event Collaboration Services also curated four of its sessions: Uniting Global Leaders in Digital Infrastructure; Designing an AI Digital Infrastructure with a Focus on the Atlantic Region; Digital Infrastructure at the Core: Enabling Healthcare and Beyond; and How Digital Infrastructure Impacts Economies on Both Sides of the Atlantic.
In honor of AC 2025, we hear from the five founding companies of Atlantic Convergence about what the event means to them and take a look back at its 2024 debut to see how much it has developed in two short years. We also hear from 13 AC 2025 speakers, including DE-CIX CEO Ivo Ivanov, about their experiences with the event, how they see Atlantic Convergence and digital infrastructure advancing, and what messages they have about convergence and for the industry. Read on to learn more about this exciting collaboration, and we hope to see all of you at the third Atlantic Convergence gathering from September 29–October 1, 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal!
