Since founding STACK Infrastructure, Brian Cox transformed it from startup into one of the largest private data center developers globally, recognized for its speed, scale, certainty, and responsibility. Driven by sustainability and equitability, Cox became one of the first signatories of the Infrastructure Masons Climate Accord, secured tens of billions USD in financing, with a focus on green financing, made veteran hiring a cornerstone of the company (25 percent of Americas employees are veterans), and launched the industry’s first structured program focused on bringing women into data center operations.
Previously, Cox served as CFO, then COO of Cologix, Inc., where he was responsible for acquisitions as well as strategy, market positioning, and commercial management. He helped scale the business to a major interconnection and data center business across North America—and established a model for “the edge”—which wasn’t widespread in 2010.
In honor of his focus on thoughtful expansion and his commitment to creating an inclusive, safe culture in and out of the workplace, the National Safety Council named him one of the “CEOs Who Get It” in 2023. He has also been recognized by Salute for his selfless service in helping fellow veterans and military families find careers in the data center industry.
