As Executive Vice President of Data Center Design, Construction, and Operations at Fleet Data Centers, a new mega-scale data center development platform focused on customized 500MW+ campuses, Eric Wilcox knows how to build hyperscale, AI-ready infrastructure for the biggest companies in the world. During his previous work with AWS (first as Director, then Vice President, of Data Center Design Engineering), he standardized the AWS global data center design, which included developing new solutions to decarbonize their data center infrastructure and expand the availability of low carbon concrete. By the end of his tenure, he was managing 800+ data centers with 99.999 percent uptime across the globe.
Prior to AWS, he held executive and senior positions at other technology giants like Vertiv, Emerson, Dell, and EMC. Currently he is developing Fleet Data Center’s in-house data center products to enable higher asset utilization of constrained power and industry-leading PUE in climates where competitors defer to chiller-based, energy-inefficient heat rejection. With nearly 30 years in the data center and IT industry, Wilcox specializes in infrastructure engineering and enterprise IT power and cooling, but his combined technical, operational, and executive experience allows him to address engineering, customer, and strategic leadership needs with equal capability.
