Johnson Agogbua

Founder and CEO, Kasi Cloud

Johnson Agogbua’s 30-plus-year career in global communications spans foundational work at UUNET Technologies, optical system engineering at Movaz (now ADVA), connectivity initiatives at Meta, and architectural contributions to Reliance Jio across India’s 22 telecom circles. He now serves as Co-Founder and CEO of Kasi Cloud, an African hyperscale provider established alongside former Equinix Chief Strategy Officer Mark Adams to address regional infrastructure deficits.

Unveiled at the Pacific Telecommunications Council conference in early 2020, Kasi turned pandemic travel restrictions into an opportunity for localized market assessment in Nigeria. The company secured a 4.2-hectare site in Lagos, raised capital from DH Capital and the Nigerian Sovereign Wealth Fund, and commenced ground construction in 2022. Grounded in a design model termed “unstoppable capacity,” Kasi partnered with Eaton to overhaul standard facility power delivery—halving typical build schedules—and constructed an expansive, carrier-neutral meet-me room engineered to serve a population of 1.5 billion. This commitment to delivering world-class regional scale aligns directly with the mission of the Luminary Award.
