As a successful President & CEO, how do you find time to maintain a work-life balance?
It is difficult, but staying active is key. I walk my dog every morning and find time to exercise at least five times a week. I run, take long walks, spin on my Peloton, and go to yoga classes. When I can, I like to hit golf balls or squeeze in a round of golf. When I start to feel overwhelmed, I practice breathing exercises.
However, most of all, in the spring, summer, and fall, I unwind by sailing on the Chesapeake Bay with my husband on our 41-ft. Beneteau sailboat. While sailing, I just drop my to-do list and I’m forced to relax. I listen to music and the sound of the waves, read books, and chat with my family and friends. On occasional overnight sailing trips to beautiful spots on the Bay, one of the most peaceful things I enjoy is watching the sunset, viewing the stars, and sleeping and waking up on the water.
