IXP.US Nears Launch of Wichita Internet Exchange

WHEN: Construction ongoing through late summer 2026
WHERE: Wichita, Kansas, USA

WHY: IXP.US is nearing completion of its flagship Internet Exchange Point at Wichita State University’s Innovation Campus—the first in a planned national network of neutral, carrier-grade IXPs anchored at leading research universities. Construction has advanced rapidly, with prefabricated modules, fiber entrance pathways, and Meet Me areas completed. TOWARDEX designed resilient fiber pathways connecting eight vaults. Developed under Kansas LINC, the Wichita IXP reflects IXP.US’s premise: AI performance begins where networks meet.
