Laura Galante is a digital infrastructure specialist in cybersecurity and national resilience. Her career encompasses the US Intelligence Community, global cybersecurity operations, national crisis coordination, and international cyber policy. Currently, as a Principal at WestExec Advisors, she continues to guide executive leadership teams and national governments through threat environments. At Atlantic Convergence 2025, Galante highlighted the need to enhance operational resilience, providing her perspective on the significance of convergence, safeguarding the digital foundation of the global economy, and the emergence of new vulnerabilities.
What does digital convergence across the Atlantic truly mean, and why is it a critical theme for the industry right now?
We are witnessing the convergence of every component of global digital infrastructure, including subsea cable operators, LEO satellite providers, data center developers, energy generators and distributors, and the land and policy frameworks that support these systems.
This convergence extends beyond traditional hubs like Ashburn, Virginia. Infrastructure leaders from Cameroon, Brazil, and throughout the Atlantic community are participating. The result is a genuinely global interconnected ecosystem.
