As your role often requires wearing many hats and juggling both the present and the future needs of different stakeholders, how do you carve out time for attending to your personal needs outside of the work environment?
I think once you start doing a project like this, you have to take into account that you will have to sacrifice a little bit. On the other hand, I make a point of trying to have me time, both with myself and my family. So, I try to respect the weekend. Since I travel a lot, I try to combine my trips with spending time with my kids. When my family isn’t with me, I make a real effort to stay in touch as much as possible—I think that’s incredibly important. Staying active is also a priority for me. Both that and family time give me the energy and balance I need to stay focused and perform at my best. So, I really make a point of taking the time to do something active, even if it’s not much, and fencing off time for myself and to be with my family.
Beyond that, I would say making my work environment an enjoyable one is also a must. Nowadays we’re all scattered in different countries and timezones, so we try to get together virtually, and we try to have a good time together. We all have enough stress, and getting along and maintaining an enjoyable environment benefits us all. And that helps. That helps a
