With more than 20 years of sales and leadership experience in the digital infrastructure industry, Amber Caramella is responsible for Netrality’s revenue generation strategy and execution, where she oversees sales, marketing, interconnection, network solutions, strategic alliances, and channel partnerships. Prior to joining Netrality, she served as SVP of Sales at Zayo, where she built the company’s global cloud, software, infrastructure, and data center vertical segment.
Caramella is on Cato’s Board of Directors, Vertiv’s Technology Advisory Board, and Infrastructure Masons’ Advisory Council. She also serves as iM Women’s Global Executive Sponsor and is part of the Inclusion Committee working to raise awareness and education for underrepresented groups. Amber’s goal is to increase the visibility and career advancement of women by transforming industry culture and ideology, leading to the development of a diverse pipeline for future industry talent.
There are many ways someone can make their way into the digital infrastructure industry. Tell us about your journey, what led you down this path, and how you got to where you are now.
My journey into digital infrastructure has been far from linear. At the core, my professional aspirations revolve around spearheading transformative change that both positively impacts the world and inspires others to join the charge.
Growing up in the vibrant entrepreneurial landscape of Northern California, I was inspired by visionary leaders shaping the future of the technology industry through their groundbreaking ventures. Initially, I gravitated towards a career in healthcare. However, fate intervened when I relocated from California to Georgia for my husband’s career and began my first job in digital infrastructure. Within the alluring, dynamic environment, where concepts are perpetually evolving and continuous learning opportunities abound, I found my true home.
Today, as a female executive at the helm of a leading North American data center operator, my enthusiasm for the data center sector knows no bounds. The industry lies at the innovation epicenter where cutting-edge technology and the future of sustainability intersect. This industry is constantly transforming while reshaping our culture, revolutionizing our way of life, and directly influencing the economic landscape.
