Colin McLean is responsible for Digital Realty’s global sales and marketing function across the full data center footprint. He is focused on growing and deepening Digital Realty’s relationship with customers and partners as well as the value they can derive by leveraging PlatformDIGITAL®, the company’s global data center platform.
McLean joined Digital Realty in 2017 and most recently served as Head of Sales in the Americas region. His previous senior leadership roles at Digital Realty include Senior Vice President of Global Accounts and leader of the Global Sales Operations and Partnerships & Alliances teams.
Prior to joining Digital Realty, McLean held increasingly senior leadership positions at Siemens and Unify (an Atos company), in which he built and led high performance sales and operations teams. He has over 25 years of sales, technology, and operational experience.
McLean holds a BA from Wofford College and a master’s degree from Pepperdine University.
You started at Digital Realty in 2017 and worked in various roles related to global accounts, engineering, and revenue operations, as well as global partners and alliances before being appointed as Chief Revenue Officer in June 2023. Can you share with us more about your journey at Digital Realty and how that shapes your approach to your current role?
My journey at Digital Realty has been shaped from having a front-row seat to the evolution of our business, from data center infrastructure to our global partner connected communities and platform innovation. Each role has given me a unique perspective that allowed me to understand the technical backbone of our facilities while also scaling global accounts and driving revenue growth across diverse customer segments. As Chief Revenue Officer, I try to bring a holistic view of how all these elements must come together to meet the transforming needs of our customers, especially in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). My focus is on enabling enterprises, clouds, and networks to thrive within our global platform while ensuring we deliver consistent, scalable value through strong partnerships, future-proof infrastructure, and customer service.
