With 35 years of experience in mission-critical information, communication, and infrastructure design, Peter Gross is an internationally recognized expert in technology and energy. In addition to being a published author of technical papers and frequent speaker at global industry events, he has been at the forefront of many innovative concepts that have spurred the evolution of the data center industry, like the use of fuel cells, direct-current power distribution topologies, and HP’s modular, prefabricated FlexDC product. His contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including the 2024 Data Center World Lifetime Achievement Award and an induction into the iMasons’ Hall of Fame.
Currently, Gross serves as Managing Partner of PMG Associates—a consulting and advisory firm focused on digital infrastructure, power, mission-critical facilities, and sustainability—and sits on several boards of directors and boards of advisors for public, private, and not-for-profit companies. Particularly through his work with the UCLA Institute of Environment and Sustainability and SMU’s Data Center Engineering Program, Gross is deeply invested in shaping the future of infrastructure talent and design while making highly reliable, 24/7 power systems safer and more robust.
